Maytag Dishwasher won't cycle Brand: Maytag Model Number: MDB7100AWW Age: 5 - 10 years This dishwasher fills and then quits. The timer continues, but there is no function. I found this had happened after running a load of dishes. The display was flashing several indicators erratically. The tub had water in it, the soap dispenser was still closed.
When I try the DRAIN/Off button the display shows cycle time and I can hear a relay clicking on the circuitboard in the door controls, but the pump motor does not come on.
I suspect maybe a failed relay on the circuit board or failed motor.
Any ideas?
More information from further investigation:
After the fill stops, the relay (?) inthe door panel near the controls tick tocks about every minute or so. Simultaneously the display dims a bit.
The pump/motor does nothing.
The door latch switches appear to be latching in.
After several minutes of the relay tick-tock, the display shows only the CLEAN and the KEYPAD 2 light blinking. They both blink simultaneously and steadily.
If I push KEYPAD 2 at this time nothing happens (interpreted instruction from another post).
Also there is discoloration around R01 resistor on the PC board. Looks like it has been hot.
This unit also recently had the MAYTAG recall repair work done for the wiring harness replacement in the door.
