Default Maytag d/w grinding
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: DWU6812AAB
Age: 5 - 10 years

Ok , Maybe I'm missing something. Tryin to remove lower spray arm of Maytag d/w model #DWU6812AAB. Looked through all posts, saw lots of diagrams but no actual help of removing arm. I'm thinking something is in the impeller. By looking at diagram I am trying to figure out how to remove part #1 Nozzel jump up as it appears my d/w does not have part #22 Lower spray arm cap. D/W was already in place when I moved in house so I do not know if #22 is missing or this model does not have this piece. Part #1 does not appear to be able to lift up out of the lower arm so how does one remove part #1 to get to part #2 the spray arm? No water leaks under unit as I have removed lower panel to inspect. The grinding noise seems to be at the bottem of the tub area above the motor.
