We have just moved into our new home and the dishwasher is one year and two weeks old. LOL
We went to start the dishwasher last night and it filled, started to wash, paused, continued washing for a couple of seconds then shut off.

I called about a timer this morning however, the cost is $113 for the part. I can buy another dishwasher for $400 almost identical but not a maytag this time.
So I am not sure if I should bother fixing it if this is a common problem or just replace.

OR is it even the timer??

It may not be your timer.

Check the house fuse or circuit breaker.

Check the door switches.

that was the first thing we did was check the breaker it was all ok,
Took the door off.. nothing wrong there.

We went out Friday night and bought a new dishwasher and I will sell this one to a repair guy for a small fee..

Funny thing, when I went to buy a new one all the stores we went to said the same thing.. Maytags arent what they used to be.

If I had to call a repair guy in, in our labor shortage market in Calgary, I would be paying at the minimum $300 in labor alone. So I looked at it this way, that is half the cost of a medicore dishwasher... This time I bought a 2 yr extended warranty.
