Default Machine stops near rince cycle
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: lsq9564jq0
Age: More than 10 years

My washing machine stops just before the rince cycle. Sometimes by dropping the lid I'd hear the sound of the timer work again and the machine would start up and continue where it left off. However, the problem is getting worse. Does the time have to be replaced or could other parts be involved?

Your timer contacts are wearing out. If you take timer apart you can confirm this, usually find burnt contacts.
