Default LED flashing
Brand: KitchenAid
Model Number: kudm01tjbs0
Age: 5 - 10 years

Hey all, we tryed to run the washer last night. Nothing happens other than the LED flashs 7 times, over and over. I've powered down for over an hour but the light just flashes.
What do the flashes mean. I called Kitchenaid and they won't tell me, they just want to send some one out.
What do you think it is?
Thanks
Tim

Check in the kick plate under the door for a technician sheet.

It is possible that the control has failed.

Here is a link to your dishwasher model kudm01tjbs0.

Thanks, I've not had time to look at it as I was walking out the door to work when I noticed the blinking. I was hoping to find out what the 7 flashes mean. I'll look for the sheet when I get home.
Thanks for your help and the link.

Are there multiple lights flashing or just one?
A key or multiple keys could be stuck.

You have to reset the computer. With the dishwasher door open, within 3 seconds, press hi temp scrub, then energy saver dry, repeat again, then close and latch door and press cancel.
If you don't have these buttons, press similar buttons, usually next to each other.

Thanks Appguy.
I did like you said and the computer did reset. However, it fills with water but the spraying doesn't start. after a few minutes it drains, like it just finished the first cycle. I've tryed different wash cycles but it does the same thing.
When it trys to wash I can hear a hum like a motor is tying to move the it kicks out.
I thank you for your help but do you have any other ideas?
Tim

You have a jammed motor. Will need to pull the spray arm off and remove all the screws and main impeller, probably something in the shredder/drain impeller under the housing.

Again thanks for the help. The motor is jammed. It has a bad bearing in it. So off to the link and see what it's going to cost me. I already cost me a little cut on the knuckle...
