Default Leaking despite new seal
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: DWU9200BAE
Age: 5 - 10 years

I was getting a leak on the right side of the door. The seal was pretty beat up so I replaced it. I'm still getting the leak. The floater seems to be in good shape. I removed it and checked the little filter inside. It moves up and down freely and I can see no cracks.

What else should I check?

Thanks!

The water level should be just under the heating element.

If it is over the element there is to much water.

Check the upper and lower spray arms for cracks.

Where is the water coming out at?

Your timer may be letting in water too long and the overflow float is stuck up. Remove float and clean under it.
Timer should let water in for between 70 and 100 seconds. Sometimes timers jam or the timer motor stalls.

I would like for you to tell me where the float is located and if you have parts list showing you the names of the items.

Thanks Sheila. The water is leaking from the bottom of the door on the right. After filling I noticed the water was just above the element. I'm not seeing any cracks in the spray arms, but the upper arm looks a little clogged. (I plan on removing and cleaning or replacing it.) The seal, as you already know, is new. The float seems to move freely, but I haven't taken it apart yet. I'll do that next.

Any suggested next steps?

By the way, where can I find a repair or service manual for this model? I've been searching the Web but can't seem to find one.

[I just took out the floater. It's clean and moves up and down freely. I sprayed some contact cleaner on the switch for no good reason except it's all I could think to do. The switch seems tight and clicks, but I don't know if that means anything. I'll run the dishwasher tonight and see if there's any change.]

Thanks for your help.
