Default Leak
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: MDB7100AWB
Age: 5 - 10 years

Where is the most likely place to find a leak?
Yesterday afternoon I suddenly had water on the floor when the dw finished.
I have not run it since, and today there is still water coming out from under the dw.
Can you save me some time and tell me where to begin looking.

Thanks,
Dave

Remove the kick plate
Get a flashlight and check underneath
A small mirror comes in handy
Quite often water will run down a suface and make it appear that a part is leaking when in fact the leak is elsewhere

I have a Maytag dishwasher of the same vintage and have had intermittent door seal leakage problems. Under some (yet to be determined) combination of circumstances (e.g., arragement of dishes in racks, excessive dish load, cycle interruption from unlatching door, excessively hot water), the door seal will leak and water will run down the door frame to the floor (and finished ceiling below!). The leak has become so unpredictable we have stopped using the washer. I am hoping users of this forum will offer up a suggestion as to the cause and possible remedies. I am also looking for a retail source for a plastic dishwasher "pan", similar to those made for clothes washers that will fit inside a cabinet's dishwasher opening.

After inspecting the door seal very carefully in the vacinity of where I believed the leak to be orginating from, I discovered that one of the seal tabs on the underside of the seal had folded and rotated 90 degrees out. It was preventing the underside of the seal to seat, creating a very narrow gap between the seal and the door panel. I rotated the tab back into position, massaged the seal a bit in the area to assist it in shape recovery, then ran a wash cycle to verify no leakage. I believe now that I solved the problem.
