 Latch is miss from new dishwasher Model Number: unknown Age: Less than 1 year
I had my new Magic Chef dishwasher installed last week and the plumber is now out of town. Being handicapped, I hadn't tried to use it at the time of installation. I tried to use it last night and I can't find a 'latch' or 'lever' that I believe should be there in the horizontal slot located on the upper right of the door. (Just where one would expect it to be). Can anyone give me some direction as to how I might remedy this problem. I looked for a schematic on the web, but I don't know the model number--it is most likely inside the dishwasher on a metal plate. I cannot open the machine without a lever of some kind. I haven't tried to poke anything in the horizontal slot I have discovered. Don't want to electrocute myself, if that's a possiblity.
