Default Kitchenaid Superba Chopper Installation
Brand: KitchenAid
Model Number: Kudso1ilwh2
Age: 1 - 4 years

My Kitchenaid has not been cleaning the upper rack, no water is being distributed per the upper rack glass test. Studying these forums I learned the most common problems were the chopper and inlet valve. Rplaced the valve and it made no difference.
I took it apart and the chopper/mascerator blade had fallen off from the screen and it was clogged with debris and a piece of plastic. I basically had to pull it apart to get it out. How do you install a new one? It appears that the base must fit onto the motor shaft, as you slide the screen into the slot. What is the correct order to do this? Does it have to be taken apart for assembly? I do not see how you can install it otherwise.

You access the sump of the dishwasher without removing it form the dishwasher.

Remove the four torx screws securing the soil accumulator for the sump base.

The soil accumulator assembly will now lift free of the sump base.

Remove the screw securing the foreign object protector to the sump base and remove the protector.

Remove the screw securing the inlet protector to the sump base and lift the inlet protector out.

Remove the chopper assembly from the impeller shaft and lift it from the sump base.

Reinstall in the reverse order.

Here is a link to your dishwasher model Kuds01ilwh2.
