Default Kitchenaid KUDS01ILWH2 Heating element & circuit board repair
Brand: KitchenAid
Model Number: KUDS01IWH2
Age: 5 - 10 years

My Kitchenaid dishwasher KUDS01ILWH2 had the famous failed heating element issue. I bought the kit here, with the new element and circuit board. Installation was no problem. However the replacement circuit board is not the same as the original in that it lacks connections for 2 wires. Looking down at the door, these are the 2 white wires at the top. The new board just has a blank spot there, although the plastic frame has a notch for it. I put in the new board and the dishwasher would not turn on. I stuck the old one back in and it will turn on. Thus the 2 wires are important. Looking at the circuit diagram I think they have something to do with the door switch. I called Parts Select and they confirmed I had the correct kit for my machine. I was provided the number for Whirlpool ( who also makes Kitchenaid) but they are closed for the weekend. Can anyone help out?

Are there any empty terminal on the new control?

I figured it out last night. The ceramic thing marked "Microtemp" that the 2 "black" wires went to was clipped to the circuit board case side. I moved it from the old to the new board and now it works again. If they had provided even minimal instructions, I would not have had this problem.
