Default Kitchenaid has no power, fuse is blown
Brand: KitchenAid
Model Number: kudso1flss3
Age: 1 - 4 years

The thermo fuse in the control panel blew out. Part no 8193762.I know nothing about appliances. The service repairman made the diagnosis and wanted $180 for the part and labor. The back of the door is open and the control panel is pulled out and it looks like it shouldn't be too hard to do this myself, but I figured I should ask if there are any tricks. I tried to wiggle the fuse out, but it didn't let go. I thought I'd ask for help before I just yank it out and do some damage. Any help will be appreciated. I have ordered the part. Thanks for any help.

Here is a link to your dishwasher model kuds01flss3.

The fuse come as an assembly.

There are two wire that have to be taken off the terminals.

Here is the fuse assembly.

I have seen these fuzes blow before and the problem sometimes is the heater coming on at the same time as the pump. Short the fuze temporarily and check current draw.
