Default Kenmore soap dispenser
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 665.16039403
Age: 1 - 4 years

Soap dispenser door doesnt open when I wash. It's not blocked can anyone tell me how it even opens, I was reading on some site about a couple different types of mechanisms (electric, wax, etc). I have a softenter if it matters. The dishwasher was purchased 4/15/06 somebody please help

It could be that the wire has detached from the solenoid. Answer me this: Do you hear a poping sound when the main wash starts? If you don't then the problem is either that the wire is unattached to the solenoid or the solenoid is bad on the dispenser.

ok Intense can you tell me Wher to look for the solenoid is it in the door. I have installed dishwashers and I am handy But I am a plumber not versed in appliance repair thanks for your first response by the way

Sure I'll be glad to help. Take off the screws that are attached to the door. They are a T-15 torx bit.
Take the door off by sliding it in an upwards direction.
Now you'll be able to see if the a brown wires are attached to the solenoid. If not plug them back into the solenoid connector. They'll only go on one way so if you have to force it you're putting it in the wrong way. Once that is done and if you feel you can be careful don't put the door on and run a cycle. Make sure you close the dispenser door first to see if the operation is correct.
