Default Kenmore model 14475 possible timer problem
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 14475
Age: 5 - 10 years

I have a Kenmore dishwasher and the timer will not rotate. I can start cycle and if I manually rotate the dial the washer runs through the cycle, the water heats, drains, soap door opens, etc, so I’m guessing the timer is bad. Does anyone have any other suggestions? A parts lists? I searched sears.com, but a search there just displays auto parts and not a dishwasher.

Thanks for the update.

There isn’t a tag inside the dishwasher anywhere or underneath the door. The owner’s manual I have lists models 14471 – 14475 – 14478 and the receipt I have list the item as 22-14475. There is an information label on the door that describes basic use and the number on that tag is 206C1513P007, but I thought that might be the part number for that label.

I removed the dishwasher from its cubbyhole and searched for a model number. There isn’t a number plate or tag on either the inside or outside of the dishwasher. Stuck under the insulation blanket was a Service Information sheet and on the sheet is 206C1608P001, could that be the model number?

Sorry still cannot find any info using the numbers you have supplied
Only thing I can suggest is call Sears

If the timer has a delay start put it on this cycle or heated dry
You want a cycle that does not run the pump, other wise there will be water everywhere
Open up the door
Put a meter across the timer motors wires
Jiggery pokery the door switch/latch assemble so the unit thinks the door is closed
If you have 120 volts across the motor and it does not advance the timer is shot

Could also remove one of the timer motor's wires from the timer and measure the motor for continuity. If open the motor is shot. This only tells you the motor's winding has burned out not if a gear is stripped or the timer is jammed so could measure OK but timer is still no good

If either of the above indicates a bad timer, remove it and take it to a Sears repair depot, with a little luck they will be able to match it.
Make sure you make a diagram or mark the wires so you know where they go when installing the new timer.

I did as you suggested and there is 120V across the motor when the door latch is closed and the timer is engaged, so it appears I do have a bad timer.

The timer is a SIEBE and there is what appears to be a part number 165D4778P009; could this be a Sears part number?

Thank you very much for the help.

All I can suggest is contact PartSelect and/or Sears to see if they can figure out what timer you need

Sorry cannot be very helpful here
I tried to track down info using the numbers you have and had no success

Default Update

I went to Sears armed with the manual and the original receipt and with that information the parts guy was able to determine the model number and I ordered a timer. The timer arrived today and I replaced the timer and once again the dishwasher works. My wife will be pleased when she gets home; thanks again for the help.
