Default Kenmore dishwasher leaving bits of food on cups
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 665.16022403
Age: 1 - 4 years

I have a 2yo Kenmore dishwasher that leaves a small amount of food deposits (has been doing it for a while) on cups in the upper tray. Not on all of the cups, but it ranges from 1 to 6 cups per load. I also notice that when I fill a glass or cup of water, there is a small amount of suds, like the soap hadn't completely rinsed off. I looked at the owners manual and I noticed that you can increase the amount of rinse aid from a standard setting of 2 to 6. I recently changed it to 4 to see if anything happens (this might help w/the soap in the glasses issue).

I was able to take off the lower propeller and noticed a screen filter underneath with a small amount of deposits on it. I can't figure out how get that screen off to clean it. Would this be the problem with the food deposits (cleaning the screen)? Or is there another problem? I do have a garbage disposal if that sheds any light on the problem.

I wouldn't doubt it's made by Whirlpool. I'll check out the link you provided. Thanks. I think part of my problem might be with the filter and the chopper underneath.
