Question Kenmore Dishwasher flashes "Clean"
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 665.17032401
Age: 1 - 4 years

I have a 2003 Kenmore DW that was not installed until 8/07. It has worked great for the last month, and now the machine will not work at all. It has power, and the cycle setting lights all light like normal. When we press the "Start/Resume" button it flashes red 2-3 times and then nothing. I can press the "Stop/Cancel" button and the pump runs like it is draining but that is all. I have noticed that the "Clean" green light flashes all the time. It in fact flashes 7 times, pauses, and then flashes 7 times over and over. I thought this might be a error code but I can't find it anywhere. The owners manual says to call a tech, but I want to try to locate the trouble myself.

There may be a problem with one of the door latch switches.

Are there any codes in the display?

Is the child lock on.

There is no lock in place, and the only thing being "lit" is the clean led, and it flashes.

It sounds like a bad door switch.

You will have to take the door apart and check the switches.

Turn the power to the dishwasher off first.

Check the wiring connection also.

if it blinks 7 times than a slight pause, its supose to mean there is a problem in the heating circuit, which basically means just about anything can b wrong sorry start at the door switch find the tech sheet and run diagnostics that will clear the code so u can find out what works fill/pump/drain and heat??? good luck JPG

If it's blinking 7 times it sounds like the heater triac on the board has gone bad.
