Hello,

I have a 6yr old Kenmore dishwasher that hasn't been wanting to drain. Just today, I had to press the Cancel/Drain button 3 times before it finally emptied. Where should I start to look for the problem?

Have you broken any glass in the dishwasher in the last three months?

If the dishwasher sounds like it is trying to drain but does not it is possible that something has damage the drain impeller or the impeller is spinning freely on the motor shaft.

Can you please verify your model number?

It should be on a tag on the tub where the door closes with the serial number.

I started to take the dishwasher apart...I did see a broken piece of glass that I was unable to retrieve. However, I ran into a snarl when I tried to remove the impeller. I couldn't loosen the nut.

The model number is 665.16632.

You Will have to jam the impeller so it does not turn and then you can loosen the screw that holds the impeller.
