basic plumbing question regarding istallation and not diswasher specific

had removed diswasher to put new cabinets and sink in and now when i run the braided water line from the DW to the water valve under the sink it leaks bad and i wrapped it with teflon tape----there are 2 hots and 1 cold under the sink and all 3 leak even running braided from faucets to valve ( i know this is an applience forum and not plumbing forum)--due to run down I cant tell if its leaking at the screwdown or from the internal stem but since leak on all 3 now i suspect it must be where in screwing the line into---------dont want to overtighten but i cant make leak stop tightening down---------any thoughts at all???????---with braided i dont need any other kind of gasket with it---------every simple plumbing project always becomes a nitemare--lol

Did you install the ferrule in the fitting when you joined the braided line to the faucet.

The nut has to be tight.
