Default Hum getting louder
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 665.17379300
Age: 1 - 4 years

My originally very quiet dishwasher has developed a hum during the wash cycle. The dishwasher still cleans and there are no water leaks but the hum is getting louder with every passing day. What would be the most likely part(s) to replace?

It could be a the bearing in the motor that is getting bad.

It may be a vibration.

It may be that something is coming loose.

Where is the noise coming from?

Here is a link to the part of your dishwasher model 665.17379300.

I pulled the kickplate and it appears that the noise is coming from the motor area. The noise only occurs when the wash/rinse cycle is on. There is no noise during the drain cycle.

It is possible that there is something in the pump or the bearing in the motor is getting bad.

If you have broken a glass or something you may not have got all the piece out.

You will have to check in the sump.
