Default How to take apart my maytag -- from a beginner
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: mdb6600aww
Age: 1 - 4 years

I'm hearing a grinding/humming sound a few minutes after I begin a cycle. I know I should take apart the motor assembly to see if something is caught...I have schematics...anything I need to know? I'm such a novice I'm not even sure of the cap on the wash arm screws or pops off. Any tips?

Many thanks,
Andy

answer: it's reverse-threaded, so I was twisting the wrong way. More later

got down to the motor, it was a small thin piece of clear plastic. I thought: how could this be it? Put it all back together, and that was it!
Many thanks for the forum
