How to secure decorative door panel? Brand: KitchenAid Model Number: kud124SE Age: 5 - 10 years This one is perplexing me. Dishwasher works fine; This has to do with re-securing the decorative door panel which has fallen off. The top of the decorative door panel is held to the door by being slipped into some postioning flanges on the bottom of the very large plastic console ("the console") which contains all the electronic controls, as well as the handle and which itelf sits on the top of the door.
The problem I am having is that I cannot figure out the way in which to secure the console in place to the door. As best I can tell, it is just supposed to snap into place and stay there. However, when I try this, it doesn't hold and either it comes loose or the decorative door panel falls out or both.
My main question is : How do I secure the console to the dishwasher door so it will stay in place and in turn be able to hold the door panel in place? Are there meant to be screws which hold it there? The screws go into the inside of the diswasher door but aren't long enough to make it as far as the console even though there appear to be screwhole receptacles in the console.
Also, the screws seem to be special--not flat heads and not phillips heads--but some kind of 8-10 sided screw. Where do I get the special screwdriver to drive these screws?
I would be much obliged to anyone who can set me straight here? Many, many thanks\ron |
