Cool Heating element wont go off
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: let7848aq2
Age: More than 10 years

Hello, my dryer quit working so I read many of the postings and got it working by replacing the thermal fuse. Also, I have cleaned the lent trap, the lent hose , and the outside vent. I get a strong flow of air from the back of the dryer when I run it. The problem now is that the heating element stays on when I open the door. The heating element will turn off when I turn the timer off. Thanks for any help.

I am going to assume that the motor shuts off when you open the door

Your heater element has probably broken and part of it is touching the frame
Unplug the unit
Open it up and check the element

Here is your parts breakdown
