Default Heating Delay light
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: MDBTT70AWB
Age: 1 - 4 years

I recently bought a new control panel for my dishwasher. Whenever I press the start button to begin the wash cycle the "heating delay" light illuminates and the number "21" flashel on the display. My dishwasher doesn't start and I can't take the heating delay off.

I have tried to press start/cancel twice, but that does not work.

Can anyone help me turn this heating delay off so that I can use my dishwsher again.

Any help is appreciated.

What is the temperature of the water in the dishwasher?

The 21 is the time that it will take to heat the water.

Here is a link to your dishwasher model MDBTT70AWB.

Im not sure what the temperature is but if the "21" was how long it would take to heat the water, why does it not count down?

The 21 flashes for a minute and then the dishwasher turns off. I can't start my dishwasher because of it.

If the water is not heating it will not count down.

What was the reason for replacing the control?

I bought a new control panel because the start/cancel button along with a few other buttons would not work. I searched this site and saw that a few people had the same problem I was having and it was suggested that they needed a new control panel.

So, what do I need to do to get the water to start heating?

Thanks so much for your help, I am not very handy with this kind of stuff.

If the temperature of your water is hot enough the dishwasher should not have to heat it.

You will have to check the element to see if it is good.

The other thing that may have happened is if you did not were a ground strap when you installed the new board it may have been damage by a static electric charge.
