Question Heating circuit
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: du1100xtpb3
Age: 1 - 4 years

Dishwasher shut down and drained, and "clean" light was blinking, unit would not start. I learned this is supposed to happen if the thermistor does not sense a certain rise in temperature within the allotted time. I cleared the fault and unit starts, fills, circulates, but does not heat the water. Have let it run 5 mins before cancel/drain. Heating element reads 10.6 ohms, door switches are making and breaking, t-stat is closed. Any ideas what else could keep the element from heating? Do not have a tech sheet, schematic or wiring diagram. Will appreciate any help.

If the dishwasher is getting enough water check the circulation pump for a blockage.

If there is debris in the pump this will cause the dishwasher to shut down.

The tech sheet and schematic should be in the kick plate or in an envelope stuck to the bottom of the tub.

Here is a link to your dishwasher model du1100xtpb3.

Thanks for the reply, will check that. There is no tech sheet or schematic....someone at the store must have removed it before it got to my house.
