Default Heat element won't go off at end of cycle
Brand: White-Westinghouse
Model Number: 905
Age: 5 - 10 years

I have an older model dishwasher (westinghouse 905) and after the cycle has finished the heat element in the bottom of the machine stays on, resulting in the dishes getting very hot.

As far as I know the element just stays on until I switch it off at the wall, and it doesn't seem to be affected by whether or not I open the door at the end of the cycle.

Just wondering if this is a specific problem, and if so is it worth getting it fixed or is it easy to fix if I can get the part? Any thoughts on what could be causing this would be great.

Sounds like the timer will not advance to the off position. Check it out and see. If it does not go to the off position replace the timer. Tom
