Sorry, don't have Model # but my Mom lives 1/2 year in Fla. now she comes north and her dishwasher makes a quick hum and nothing happens. Is the rumor true that if you don't use it often, it won't work? Any suggestions on what might be wrong?

If a dishwasher is not used, the water in the sump can evaporate.
Running a dishwasher dry can seize the pump
Hopefully yours is still OK
Put a couple quarts of water into the washer and give it a try
