This GE Dishwasher will not Drain. I am attempting to help a family friend with their Dishwasher and they do not have the funds to throw parts at it. The unit is in a house that this friend just bought and I am unsure of its age. I have completed a quick inspection but did not have a method to drain the unit during my inspection. I will be able to do this tomorrow night. I do not hear/see the pump run when I cycle the timer. I do hear and see the Drain and fill Solonoids kick in but the pump does not turn. What should I look for after I drain it. the motor was hot when I inspected it. is it likely the motor is burned out? Could the impeller be jammed? Do these pumps Jam and then the motor work when cleared? Any comments are welcome.

It is possible that there is something in the pump stopping the motor from turning.

If the motor has not burnt up it should be fine after the blockage has been remove.

Be careful it is likely glass that is in the pump.

I was able to free the motor by taking the pump/motor assy off and cleaning the pump. there was not much in there but the motor was initally difficult to turn and when i was done the motor turned freely...but there is a leak...i will post a new thread.
