When you say it does nothing, exactly what are the symptoms?
Does it fill with water?
Does rinse still work?
Do you hear any noise at all from the motor?
Have you removed the kick plate and listened/looked carefully at the motor, does it even try to go?
A model number would be helpful.
If it is the standard older GE pump type the motor/bearing may be shot. These pumps need water for the seals etc. dish-soap suds reduces this almost as bad as running it dry.
If accessible try moving the motor armature, alternatively remove the sump cover and try moving the chopper blade. Unplug the unit when doing this!!!
Do you have a voltmeter so you can check to see if the motor is getting voltage? |
