Default GE Dishwasher not cleaning Dishes
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: GSD3800G00BB
Age: 5 - 10 years

Dishwasher not cleaning. Sometimes not all the soap will be removed from holders. Every thing sounds fine that i can tell. when i open door to watch water, bottom arm(only arm) spinning only when water pulse. water does not coming out of center spiket in a stead stream. seams like low water pressure, not sure. any thought?

Check and make sure that the drain solenoid is closing.

Make sure that the water is just below the heating element.

If you have broken anything in the dishwasher lately you may have a broken wash impeller.

there is only a little amount of water on the bottom from which it comes out of the tower. is the soleniod labeled as "(item 497) PS260117
SOLENOID & BRKT ASM (SOLENOID & B)"? how do i test it?

Yes number 497 is the solenoid.

To test turn the dishwasher to the drain cycle and watch the operation of the solenoid.

Also check and see if water is entering the dishwasher.

To do this turn the dishwasher on and listen for the water then open the door and check the water level.

If no water is coming in you will need a fill valve.

This is the valve that the water line hooks to.

It is number 744 on the body parts breakdown.
