I am out of town and my wife is complaining that our dishwasher is not working. When she turns it on it makes "Loud Clicking" noises she says. Also she says that the dishes look as if you had mixed the soap up with a small glass of water and poured it all over the dishes and then let it dry. She does see water in the bottom of the unit, however the dishes have soap scum all over them. The heater drying unit is still working. The clicking sounds seems to come from the bottom. And the water does not seem to come up on the side walls but half way.

Has there been any glasses broken in the dishwasher in the last little while?

The water level in the dishwasher only come to just below the heating element when it is full.

It sounds like there may be a problem with the impeller and the water is not being sprayed over the dishes.
