Brand: General Electric
Age: 5 - 10 years

No water is coming on when dishwasher is put on...The valve is on below the sink and we have water for sink but none for dishwasher..

No water coming out of dishwasher when turned on even though the valve is open all the way under the sink...

If you have a meter check that the water inlet valve has continuity. Not sure of the resistance, you are just checking that it has continuity.
If OK
Check that the valve is getting voltage
If OK
Remove the valve from the machine and check that the filter is clean. This is a screen on the inlet side of the valve. Do not remove the screen, it is there to keep crud out of the valve which might hold it open and flood the kitchen.

If you do not have a meter check the last item first.

I had to replace in the inlet valve on my GE a while back which was semi operational. Some water would continue to run in after it was supposed to close. There should be still an audible sound when that valve operates. Multimeter also showed me that current was passing good to the inlet valve.
