Unhappy Frigidaire won't drain
Brand: Frigidaire
Model Number: FDB635RFR5
Age: 5 - 10 years

I've got an Frigidaire that won't drain. It doesn't leak, but there's about 1-2 inches of water in it after a wash cycle. It was installed when my house was new in 2002, I have not installed a new disposal, & there is no obstruction in the hose. I replaced the Drain pump & solonoid to no avail. Help!

Default me too.

This is odd, I woke up this morning to find the same exact problem.

But, what is more strange is my Frigidaire is from 2002 (new when we bought our house).

I have not even checked anything yet, I was waiting until after work, but thought I would surf the net to see what I can find.

I'm not even sure of the model #. I am leaning towards a pump, blockage, or solenoid because it sounds like the pump is trying to start. (Again, It didn't drain last night, and I ran another cycle this morning and again it didn't drain.)

Keep me posted, and I'll try to do the same.

Thanks
BRIAN

No problem Brian. Just make sure you pay attention how you take apart the spray arm & related parts on the bottom. A little tricky to go back together.

Hey man,

Just a head up. I figured mine drainage issue out. WHITE RICE....and a blocked hose.

Thank god for 2 GREEN PEAS also in the blockage. Otherwise I would have missed it.

I doubt yours can be so simple...but it is worth a look.

Couple of questions.
#1 When you disconnect the drain hose, does it drain on its own? (mine did, all over the floor..

#2 Does the pump "KICK IN" (did you measure the voltage on the pump?) I was able to feel and hear the pump turn on. So I was pretty certain it was a blockage.

Thanks

Brian

I found a blockage. Appeared to be mashed potatos. Mine also drained all over the floor & down into the basement! I feel like an idiot! Well, atleast we both have working dishwashers now! My wife is happy too!
