Default Frigidaire will not run
Brand: Frigidaire
Model Number: fdb857rjb0
Age: 1 - 4 years

first off, thank you for creating this forum and hats off the to partselect.com website as I have used them as of late to repair appliances that came in the house we bought. i have this issue with my DW, you select the cycle with the buttons on the keypad, press start and then nothing happens. shut off breaker for 5min, turned back on and got the power off blinking and then pressed whatever the book said to reset it but still have same issue. took connector off of the fill valve and a VOM across the two terminals reads 40VAC when i try to start the cycle. does this sound like a control board? is the valve supposed to get 120VAC to operate? any help is much appreciated. -added info- when you select the wash cycle and press start, the "washing" light comes on.

It sound like the control board is faulty.

You should get 120 vac to the valve.

Here is a link to your dishwasher model fdb857rjb0.

sheila,

thank you for the reply. i checked the volts coming in a few minutes ago and it has 120vac coming in so that is what i had also presumed to be the problem. unfortunately(i guess) i have a home warranty on the house we bought that is good for a year. if i want to save a little money, i have to go through the warranty company for reapirs. but, as soon as it runs out i will continue to use partselect.com for any parts. thanks again,

bill allen

turn out it was the door latch assembly. it was broken allowing one of the switches to not make contact. if i pull out on the door, the dw starts to run. just wanted to reply to this in case anyone else ran into the same problem and thought it might be the control board.
