Question Foul smell in during cylce
Brand: KitchenAid
Model Number: KUDOMO1TJBS0
Age: 5 - 10 years

During the cycle the foul odor (like a sewer) actually fouls the entire kitchen. Yet after the cycle is over and the water drains the smell is gon. dishes clean well and water drains. If you open the door during the cycle there is a fair amount of water aon the bottom of the machine?

The water level in the dishwasher should be just under the heating element after it is full.

Check the sink drain to see if the smell is coming from it.

Unless the drain was backing up there is no way that the dishwasher would smell that bad.

Here is a link to your dishwasher model KUDMO1TJBS0.

Do you have city water or well water? Do you notice the same smell in your shower or your sink?
If there is a blockage in your sink drain where I assume the drain line is hooked to it could be that your getting blocked up there. I'd check your drain first and go from there. Good luck and keep us informed.
