Default Float Leaks
Brand: KitchenAid
Model Number: KUDI230B0
Age: 5 - 10 years

I have the same problem as in...

http://forums.partselect.com/dishwas...king-1895.html

I replaced the float. Water level and pressure are fine. No cracks that I can see. Took the top off the vent, not sure what to do there. Looks clear. Float seems to spin and move up and down and the water comes down the stem. Any suggestions?

You say that the water level is find. How high is the water?

I reference to the heating element where is the water?

What was the reason for replacing the float?

Here is a link to your dishwasher model KUDI230B0.

The water is just below the element about 1/2". It recently started leaking and it was coming from the stem of the float as it moved around and up and down. It looked worn so I replaced the float. Thought maybe there was a seal missing or something.

The other post said to check the vent. I took of the top and looked in. Can't tell much. Looks ok. Is there another way to check vent or something else I should look for?

Let the dishwasher fill with water and begin the wash cycle.

Open the door and watch the water,if the water is sloshing around back and forth you have a problem with the vent.
