Unhappy Fill and drain at the same time. don't clean well
Brand: Jenn-Air
Model Number: dw760w
Age: 1 - 4 years

After filling about 35 seconds, dishwasher continues to fill and drain at the same time. When it is supposed to drain, it only drains for a couple of second. I don't feel this sequence is correct because my dish doesn't comes out clean. I have to prewash each time, other else particle stick on dish. Should I just buy another one instead of repairing?

It sounds like the drain flap may be stuck opened and letting the water drain out.

Check the drain solenoid and linkage.

Here is a link to your dishwasher model dw760w.

Sheila, thanks for the reply. I have since changed out the solenoid and no differences. However I did notice that the drain flapper is worn out. It has a hole. Can the flapper be change from inside the dishwasher or must the dishwasher be disconnected and replace from the bottom? I don't seem to have the strength to lossen the copper tube from the dishwasher valve. Will changing the flapper fix my fill/drain and don't drain when it is suppose to drain problem? thanks, flo

The flap can be replace from the inside of the dishwasher and that should fix your problem.

thanks, The flapper is inside the center tube. There are 3 more screws that I can physical remove. After that, should I just yank the top out with all my mighty strength. Everthing feel tight even after I removed the screws. Do u mind walking me thru step by step how to expose the flapper? thanks

What have you remove so far?

If you look at the diagram you will see the order that the piece have to be removed.

Take your time.

I have removed the whole tub from the dishwasher. That is a wow for me. I have removed 3 screws from the pump volute. I have remove the plate and chopper. Still can't remove the pump volute. Do I still have to remove the whole the whole propeller thing? I unscrew the motor assembly, but it is still latch on to the center shaft. How do removed that? Do I need to totally remove the propeller from the motor or is the pump volute just got stuck and need yanking force? I really appreciate all your replys. It makes me feel less lonely in dealing with this dishwasher. :o)
