Where in the cycle does the machine stop? Any way you can cut off power to it and restart the dish washer?

I unplug the machine to clear the message but it returns within 15 minutes into the cycle...

So...what was the result? I have the exact same problem and the manuals and website are so weak it's not funny!
I have the same model that you have/had.
I have this feeling that your answer is going to be: "I called a guy to come and fix it"
Thanks!

That error means one of the many touchpads is stuck down. To test which one, turn the power off and disconnect one of the touchpads, then turn the power back on. if the error comes back the touchpad that is connected is faulty. If I remember correctly some serial numbers of that model covered the touchpads for 5 years. To tell if yours does check the user manual.
