Default DW not draining completely
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: GSDL132F00WW
Age: 5 - 10 years

Cleaned the drain..made sure the lines were clear.....took the discharge hose loose and ran through rinse cycle and watched the water get pumper out the discharge hose...but 1/4 to 1/2 inches of water remains in the bottom after cycle completes?

is this the same problem as people whose water does not pump out at all? I know my pump works...but why does it leave some at the bottom? Is it because the cycle does not complete?....thanks in advance

Here is a parts breakdown
GE GSDL132F00WW

If you feel the water in the tub is excessive, possible causes are:
1. Drain flapper not working correctly
2. Drain pump
3. Sump has stuff in it. Should also effect wash efficiency also
4. Rear valve (piston nut asm) not working properly. See Body Parts section
5. Drains flapper valve defective. See Motor Pump section

I would start with the drain pump
Remember to put a pan under the unit to catch the water, save mopping it up off the floor

Here is a good site with additional repair help
dishwasher repair service help Maytag GE Kenmore Whirlpool Inlgis Frigidaire, leaking, washing, draining problems, pump assembly break downs

I have a similar unit without the separate drain pump. Mine always leaves a little water in the bottom. I never worry about it since if you try to run the motor with the sump totally dry it can cause damage to the impeller etc.
