Default Door seal degrading
Brand: KitchenAid
Model Number: KUDR01TJWHO
Age: 5 - 10 years

The lower inner door seal to our KitchenAid (KUDR01TJWHO) is degrading. Large chunks of black waxy plastic have been breaking off inside. There is no leaking (yet) but small deposits of black waxy residue are being deposited on plastic ware during the wash cycle. The material only sticks to plastic, not glass. Has anyone had this experience? Is this a health hazzard? Would this be covered under the tub warranty?

Thanks!

You will have to replace the seal.

It is not a health hazard.

The only thing covered under the tub warranty is the tub.

Here is a link to your dishwasher model KUDR01TJWH0.
