I just ordered new Door springs to install, but I'm not sure that is all that is wrong with the door. When it is open, it goes beyond the 90 degrees it is supposed to be when open. I thought there would be a cable, a hinge, or at least a stop to prevent this from happening, but I couldn't identify any of those items on the parts list. Can anyone give me some advice?

With the spring broken the door will open a little past the 90 degree point because there is no resistance on the door.

The new springs should be all that you will need.
