Default Door with new seal won't stay closed
Brand: KitchenAid
Model Number: KUDS01FKSS0
Age: 5 - 10 years

The door seal kept falling out of the groove, and eventually tore. Then the door lift cord snapped. I got a kit with door seal and installed the seal. Let the silicone dry for 24 hours, and it all seemed like it was fine. Now, the first time I try to use it, the door won't stay shut. It's like the door seal is too thick for this dishwasher. But I checked the part number. And it seems like there's only one door seal part. Has anyone else had this problem? I'd appreciate any help. I have gone over the door seal carefully, and it seems to be fully seated according to the diagram, but the door is hard to close and pops open as soon as you let go. I took out the bottom rack and the top rack is not hitting at all.
Thanks for any advice.

Here are a couple bulletins which may help
http://www.servicematters.com/maytag...docs/TS489.pdf
http://www.servicematters.com/maytag...docs/TS485.pdf

They address leaks but may also be useful to you for door adjustment
