Default Diswasher motor runs but wont wash
Model Number: mdbtt59awb

The tub fills with water and it sounds like the motor is running as to start the wash cycle, but no water is being pumped to the washer bars. I checked down to the top of the motor and found no blockadges but did find pieces of broken glass.
The heater bar heats up but the washer does nothing else at the same time the motor sounds like it is running. The impellar looks to be intact and rotates freely .The pump does empty the tub when I cancel the wash cycle.

Its a Maytag less than 2 years old

Check the water level.

The water level should be to the top to the filter guard.

If the water level is low it might have been caused by someone running water at the same time as the dishwasher was filling.

Dishwashers are time filled.

Check to make sure the float is not stuck sometimes they get gummed up and stick.

Here is what the impeller should look like.

Click on the impeller to get different views.

If the is any wear replace it.

I checked float, no issues, no sticking and slides up and down and water level fills the tub . Impellar in machine shows no sign of wear looks just like picture sent.

Check the filter that is on the tube for the upper spray arms.

I would check for a cracked spray arm. While the washer is running open the door fast and look what is going on there. Lower spray arm should be moving and spraying up not down.

I still have the same problem with dishwasher, after checking for cracks in spray arms , does the impellar provide the only source of water pressue thru the washer arms. How do you remove impellar from shaft.

If you have the screw out of the impellar it should just pull off.

It could be that the shaft seal is turning free on the motor shaft.

The impellar sets on the shaft seal.

Here is a link to your dishwasher model mdbtt59awb.

Look at the pump and motor diagram.

Drain all the water out down to the impellar. Start dishwasher and observer direction of impellar.
It might be rotating the wrong way=new motor time. If not turning, look for obstruction under it. They can be hard to take off, I split it off with a chisel.
