Default Dishwasher won't run
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 665.15819990
Age: 5 - 10 years

The only cycle that can be selected is the normal wash. Then, the no heat dry flashes, and the locked light will go off and on. The drain only cycle will start when pushed, and stop when pushed again.

When you select the normal wash does the dishwasher fill or does it just flash the no heat dry?

When you select the drain only will it run for the enter drain only cycle?

There should be a tech sheet in the kick plate that may have a test sequence.

Here is a link to the parts of your dishwasher model 665.15819990.

The drain cycle will run its two minutes to completion if I let it. I did look at the tech sheet and tried to initiate the test sequence, but doesn't look like anything happened. If I run my finger back and forth across the button pads, sometimes I can get it to work. If this means I might have a stuck pad, how do I find out which one if any, and how do I correct. Thanks

The keypad is all on piece that is a part of the control panel.

There is a ribbon cable that joins the panel to the control board.

Check the connection to make sure it is tight.

You may have to replace the keypad/control panel.
