Default Dishwasher won't rinse dishes
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: PDW7712jooss
Age: 1 - 4 years

My 3 yr old GE won't rinse the dishes. I am left with dishes covered with milky white water, on both the upper and lower racks. On occasion I am also left with sand like food particles inside the glasses on the upper rack. I have to put the dishes through a 2nd rinse cycle to get them clean.

I have taken apart the dishwasher and have verified that all the filters are free of debris, all impellers are intact, there are no clogs of any nature in any place where water can and will travel. All spray arms spin when in operation, although the arm just below the upper rack does not spin as quickly as the other 2. No visible water is left in bottom of dishwasher at the end of the rinse cycle. The water entering the dishwasher fills for about 70 seconds, and is hot. The water level is about 1/2 inch below the heating element, and I use a powder detergent.

If anyone has any advice on what I should check next, I would greatly appreciate it!

How much detergent are you using?

Do you use rinse agent?

Can you please verify your model number as I can't locate it in our database.

Where was your dishwasher purchased.

I use the Electrasol tablets, and yes I use jet dry which I top up regularly. I bought my dishwasher from Sears Canada, and it is now an outdated model. I just verified that the model # is PDW7712JOOSS. There is a possibility that I am mixing up the O's and 0's. The drain on my dishwasher runs about 6 feet to the plumbing under the sink. The hose is connected to the sink drain at about 6" above floor level. The dishwasher was professionally installed by Sears.
