The washer has 2 problems. it is making more noise than it used to( a grinding noise). Second, it goes thru the wash cycle but stops at the draining cycle, leaving all the rinse water in the tub.

Will it drain if you try another cycle?

Is something clogging your garbage disposal? This happened to us once, and that was the problem (if I remember correctly -- lots of issues with that dishwasher).
