My whirlpool dishwasher has quit pumping the water fully out at the end of each wash cycle. I can hear it as it begins to try to pump the dirty water out (as I can hear some water entering into the drain in the sink), but, it never fully empties the dishwasher before it begins to fill again for the next cycle.

Any ideas?

It sound like the drain impeller is worn and will need to be replaced.
