Default Dishwasher tub repair
Brand: Frigidaire
Model Number: 200 or 400
Age: 5 - 10 years

Hi everyone,
somehow the heating element came out of its bracket and burned a hole in the bottom of the plastic tub. Is there anything I can use to caulk that hole that will be safe. Can the drum be replaced? I did speak to an appliance repair place and they said I need to buy a new diswasher - is there any hope?

The tubs on most model can be replaced.

If you can't do it yourself the price would likely exceed what you would want to pay.

For something to repair it with you could check with a hardware store.

Can you please provide me with your model number?

I can then give you the price on a new tub.

My stupid plumber hooked my brand new dishwasher to cold water and the heating shield broke and made a hole in the tub. I was able to find epoxy I think from Sears and it lasted me over 2 yrs until my wife peeled it off thinking it was a piece of dried mushroom. Find something that is non toxic after its cured and can be used in moist hot temp (stuff used to fix sauna or hot tub). Apply in layers. Watch it closely for few washes and then monthly. Good luck!
