Default Dishwasher timer
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: GSD2200Z05WH
Age: 5 - 10 years

I replaced the timer on this model becasue it just ran in place for hours. Now it runs fine but the detergent cup doesn't latch. Also, it doens't seem to fill. Is that related?

I wouldn't say that these problems are related to each other. Have you thouroughly cleaned the fine grooves in the detergent cup? Detergent tends to build up in this area and prevent it from latching shut. It would be worth a try.
