Default Dishwasher stops
Brand: Jenn-Air
Model Number: JDB8910AWQ
Age: 5 - 10 years

My dishwasher stops after cleaning the dishes prior to draining or drying. The "clean" light flashes along with the light for the cycle I've chosen. I can restart it by pressing the "drain/off" button. It pumps out the water and shuts down. The dishes are clean, but have not been dried. Can someone help. Thanks in advance.

Does it do the same thing in every cycle or just the one?

What is in the display when this happens.

Here is a link to your dishwasher model JDB8910AWQ.

I've only tried it in the "light wash" cycle. I will try it in the "normal" cycle next and see if it malfunctions. When it stops in the "light wash" cycle, the display is blank and the "light wash" and "clean" lights flash off and on. When I press the "drain/off" button, a 2 appears in the display and it continues the countdown until it is finished and shuts off.

It does the same thing in the "normal" cycle. It hangs up for about 5 minutes with the display showing 68 min to go and then starts flashing the "clean" and "light wash" LED's. Guess it is skipping the 2nd wash cycle and drying cycle? I am guessing it's something in the control panel circuit board?

It does sound like the control has failed but to be sure you should run a test.

There should be a technician sheet in the panel under the door.

This will tell you the buttons to push to put it through the component test.

If the component all check out to be good replace the control.

Default Test OK

Thanks for the help Sheila. I ran all the tests on the service sheet and all the components test OK. Guess it is the control unit itself.
