For the past 6 months I have been having trouble with my Kenmore dishwasher.
Six months ago it stopped in mid cycle and then would not start up again, but light
would just blink. Repairman installed a new control panel- #8564542. Dishwasher worked fine for next two months, then did same thing as before. Repairman came out and replaced control panel with new panel (same number).
Dishwasher worked fine two more months. Repairman came back, got frustrated and said to get a new dishwasher. So I went online and ordered a new control panel (same number). I installed panel. Dishwasher worked great for two weeks. Quit in midcycle and started the flashing light thing again. Please help !

What light was blinking and how many times. What I'm meaning is this was it the clean light that blinks or the start light? And how many times in a row does it blink?

It was the "clean" light that was blinking. Before I wrote in, I had removed the
control panel. In order to answer your questions, I reinstalled one of the previous control panels. This action must have reset something because dishwasher is now working. But, I am sure it will stop again. At that point I will write back with the number and frequency of blinks. Thank you so very much for your assistance!.

Dishwasher worked fine for two cycles. Now the "clean" light blinks seven times, pauses and then blinks seven times again. This pattern is continuously repeated. Thank you for your help!

It sounds like a heater problem. You may want to call a tech out to check it out.
