Default Dishwasher not starting
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: DU890SWLU0
Age: 1 - 4 years

One day my dishwasher stopped in the middle of a wash and has not powered up ever since. There are no power lights it is a cheaper model. I read some forums and people say it is a bad door switch so I payed $45 and this is not the issue. Is there a fuse on these that can blow? I'm not able to find one and the user manual only shows a relay which I figure was for the heating not power.

Thank You!

There is a fuse located on the control board. That could very well be your proble. Make sure you check the power underneath. The wires could be fried. I can be reached at T. PAONE's APPLIANCE SALES & SERVICE GUIDE Tom

Would this be the thermal fuse under the foot panel that could be bad? I took the control panel apart and I see no kind of fuse.

The fuse under the unit is probably the heater fuse
It should not kill all power. Have you tried a rinse cycle
Take a look at the schematic for the 890 in the attachment I recommended earlier

Do you have a timer with a timer motor and also a multiswitch assembly

Have you tried the timer at different positions also the multiswitch

Are you sure that you have power going to the unit
Looking at the DU890 schematic the only thing that can kill power to the whole unit is the door switch
